Great show...tough day

Anyone who knows me, knows that I took a major blow personally when I found out about the death of one of my heroes in broadcasting - Jim Durham.  So tonight on the show, we opened with a 30-minute talk about Jim Durham and his impact as a person and as an announcer.  We really had fun doing it and I will be posting clips of him each day this week to honor him.  Rich, Brett Myhres, Brett Hill, Mark Farina, and Joshua Jackson joined me on the show tonight.  The show had to go on, but believe me, some tears were shed with the loss of J.D.  God bless you JD and Red Kerr.  They are together again!  Thanks for the support y'all! We had fun tonight!

Hey y'all, Snowman here

Well, the refs are back and we are ready for week 4.  But what about the game in Morgantown, WV.  Geno Smith, are you kidding me???? 656 yards????  Nick Florence breaks the record of the Heisman winner and LOSES??? Two receivers with 300 yards in a game??  What the hell happened to the defenses??  They got lit up!! That's what happened.  In all, 1507 yards, 133 points and ONLY ONE TURNOVER!!! That's CRAZY!!!!  We will DEFINITELY hit this game as well as other college masterpieces on tomorrow's show!  Brett and Rich will join me for another kick-ass show tomorrow night at 8pm EDT!!!

2 games that will forever scream change

Brett here,

You hear a lot of people say this: "Don't let the refs decide the game".  Well, in a matter of really two straight games, we have seen this.  First off, we see the refs make some big, yet controversial calls in the Patriots-Ravens Sunday night game that even had Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth question not only the calls, but the entire replacement ref staff. Now fast forward to this past Monday evening where we see the Packers-Seahawks game come down to the refs' decision.  Trailing with just seconds left, we see Russell Wilson make one final heave from about the Packer's 40 yard line toward the endzone in hope that someone on his team will come down with the ball and give the Seahawks the miracle victory late Monday night.  Well, he got his catch, or was it a catch?  We see Seahawks receiver  Golden Tate blatantly push away a Packers defender, but no Offensive Interference is called.  We then see Packers' corner M.D. Jennings (in my opinion) clearly have possession of the ball for the game-ending interception.  However, Tate was somewhat able to get his fingertips on the ball as he is falling down and they both fall to the ground with their hands on the ball (Jennings with it more-so on his chest).  The refs look at each other, one says interception and the other says touchdown.  The ruling on the field is a touchdown, Seahawks win.  However, they do take it to the replay booth where you would think, "okay, at least they will get the call right."  So here I am, ruling on the field about to be announced, and you can just hear a pin drop in what is probably the loudest NFL Stadium in the league.  "The ruling on the field stands, touchdown."  A sentence that seems to be said once a game, will now go down in infamy in this game.  Somehow, Tate either had a better possession, or had a simultaneous possession.  Seahawks manage to win this game, but at what cost?  We all knew the replacement refs wouldn't be as good as the regular ones, but not this bad.  In a matter of just two games, the entire football world is in an agreement.  This NFL refs lockout needs to end.

End of ref lockout

Rich here, I know two weeks ago I said leave these refs alone. Well now you've got a reason to complain. Absolutely horrible call at the end of the GB/Seattle game.

What a Finish in Seattle

WOW!!!! Did y'all see that finish at Century Link Field?!?!?!?! Let us know what you think!! Was it a TD for Tate, or an interception for Jennings??????

Great Show

I love Rich Morgan and Brett Hill and thanks to Brian Tarvin and Tim Maher for joining us on the hotline.  This was the smoothest show we had and to think we had some sound difficulties at the beginning of the show.  Well, they got solved and the folks at Blog Talk Radio gave me the tools.  Here is the archive so listen in and enjoy and thank you fans!!!!

Timsanity Part 2?

Hey Folks, Rich here from the Brian and Rich Show.....and I want to get something off my chest

As a Broncos fan, watching my team draft Tim Tebow was painful to say the least. Watching him play last year... even more so. Granted I enjoyed the fact he helped the team to their first playoff appearance since the 2005 season, I am one of the few who apparently noticed that was aided by great defense and a clutch kicker in Matt Prater.

Therefore, when I heard that Peyton Manning was going to be signing with the Broncos for the upcoming season I almost jumped out of the seat I was sitting in from excitement. Then a few days later when I heard Tebow would be traded to the Jets, all I could do was shake my head and laugh. I'm still not sold on Tebow being a full time quarterback.

Not only are the Jets taking a step backwards, having just signed Drew Stanton to a deal to be the back up, but they have become the laughing stock of the entire NFL.

Based off of last season, if Mark Sanchez will not hold onto the starting spot very long if Tebow is able to come in a show some hop to the Jets' offense. In fact, I give it less than half the season before the entire Jets fan base jumps on the Tebow wagon and calls for the head of Sanchez on a stake just like the did to Orton in Denver.

Which means unfortunately all I can say for now is... Here we go again....

Manning Makes it Official

So Peyton Manning is now a Bronco...which my partner Rich is not complaining one bit.  Manning is a sure hall-of-famer, but even by his own admission he's not 100 percent.  He says he could play on Sunday, but the only thing that worries me about a quarterback I have grown to love is what if he takes one good shot in the head.  Nothing will be answered until that first live snap in a live regular season game.  And we say regular season because we all know there is no way he takes more than five or ten snaps during the preseason.  All of his work will come in practices and in non-contact.  Which I don't blame the Broncos for doing because if this is to be your prized possession and lead you to the promised land, then you need to take care of it.  Something the Bears need to learn how to do for all you Bear fans.

As for my team, the 49ers, Alex Smith, as far as I know and as this goes to press has been signed to a deal.  Which is good.  Let him continue to work with Jim Harbaugh and the fact that Alex gets Randy Moss as a new toy doesn't hurt either.  There will be doubters of Moss as there has been over his entire 15-year career.  I say bring it on.  Moss still has it and I can't wait for him and the 49ers to prove it.  Moss has made one Super Bowl and he has another in him this year in SF.  Even Jerry Rice endorsed the deal.  Now that's something being endorsed by the greatest receiver of all time.

That's all for now.  More later!  We're back at it Monday night from Robertsdale LL in Hammond!!
